Whatever works! Finally a calm morning in Galisteo, NM. The birds were out at first light, the winds were gone, and only a light third layer was necessary for that early morning walk in the desert with the dogs racin' around. This shot was taken at the Boulder show last Summer, at the Community Garden of 200 gardeners. Simple but effective. Conduit pushed into the ground with a light netting over it to keep the birds and critters at bay. ANYWAY you can do it, start growing your own food this year. Big pots, vertically, in Grow Y'own's, wooden whiskey barrels, and on and on. We must stop shipping food thousands of miles, and start growing it ourselves. Hook up with a friend who has the experience, or find someone in your community who can give you advice. If nothing else, start an herb garden, and stop buying those stupid, plastic-contained, miniscule amounts of expensive snippings from the store. Herbs will last for years and years, create a beautiful space around your home, and make your food taste like it never has before! Know Your Food Source, Eat Responsibly. Grow Local. Buy Local.
